De la Paix, Restaurant Bamako
This is proudly the only and first vegetarian restaurant in Bamako.
With very kind employees, the Restaurant de la Paix can also manage to serve something for non-vegetarians if you’re in a group.
This restaurant is located on Rue Bagayoko opposite of the Mission Catholique (cheap hotel run by nuns), so this is actually a great option if you’re really hungry and don’t want to look for something else.
Apart of several street meals of bean sandwich, I end up having almost all my meals here.
This is of great value and great food for Bamako standard. I mean, perfect. You can have spaghetti with tomato sauce, omelette with fresh salad and French fries, spaghetti with beans (you have to ask in advance as they have to get if in advance). Basically, you can ask them to do whatever you wish but ask in advance and they will make all possible to satisfy you and prepare it.
A normal meal costs from 1300 CFA to 1800 CFA (around 2 or 3 Euros).
For dessert you can get yourself some mangoes on the street from 150CFA up to 250CFA for 1 kilo (0.20 Euros to 0.40 Euros) depending of your bargain capabilities, and ask them to wash it and prepare it on a plate for you.
